Kramer is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward who played in the American Hockey League (AHL). He began his hockey career in junior leagues with the Grande Prairie Storm in the Alberta Junior Hockey League before advancing to the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Hockey League (WHL). During the 2010–11 season, he established a reputation as an enforcer by leading the WHL in penalty minutes.

The Ottawa Senators drafted Kramer 156th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. After being drafted, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Senators and played for their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, from 2012 to 2015. Over 136 games, he recorded 22 points and racked up 545 penalty minutes, showcasing his tough playing style on the ice.

In 2015, Kramer joined the Manitoba Moose on a professional tryout contract and later signed one-year contracts with them for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
